Hey Guys!
Today was my final rehearsal for the school play. This year we are doing Robin Hood and I am very nervous. The first performance is on Wednesday night, I missed all my afternoon lessons today for our final rehearsal, though I was happy about this, it has just dawned on me that I have one day left!!!
I play Little John (ironically I am 5'10"). I love my part, though I wish I could say the same for my costume! It consists mainly of black trousers, tights, black shoes, a sack, a belt, safety pinned on cut up pieces of fur, a hood, war paint (shoe polish) and very bad hair... Unlike my costume, my lines are utterly brilliant, to give you an idea, my last line is "Let's crush his bones". There is much joy in saying this without offending anyone directly. First rehearsal when I said it (in a strangely low voice for a girl...) everyone stared at me, then presently burst out laughing. It is hard not to laugh too, but I have got considerably better over the last term!
The only real downside is that I have discovered I cannot 'roar'! It's weird! I have to jump on and roar, and I sound pathetic! But whatever, I don't think anyone will notice, they will only be looking at my 'amazing' costume...so I'm all good.
Wish me luck for Wednesday!!!
Maia :) x
